Girls Just Wanna Have Fun- By Deirdre

Last night, I celebrated Jamie’s Last Daze as a single gal. Her bachelorette party had the usual suspects – good girlfriends, tasty beverages, and some sexual party favors, including the “to have and to hold” penis cake.

We started off the evening at Mi Luna, a trendy tapas restaurant in the Rice Village. After a few glasses…er pitchers…of sangria, the ladies and I decorated Jamie with festive buttons, a special wedding tiara and a good girl/bad girl wand. We then asked Jamie to discuss her favorite “Michael Moments.” She told us how Michael went fishing off the company pier and hooked Jamie. From the first date, she knew he was a catch. As the bride-to-be gushed over her Aggie, we enjoyed delicious scallops, calamari, beef tenderloin and, of course, more sangria.

With a slight buzz, we headed over to Baker Street Pub to listen to some live music. While the cover band was good, the guys that sang to Jamie as part of a scavenger hunt needed some serious voice lessons. Like a bad episode of American Idol, the William Jung impersonators tried their best to “like big butts” and “walk the line.” Good times were had by all.

Most importantly, I got to spend some QT with my B.F.F. I’m so excited for her and Michael. I know they will have a wonderful life together, and I am blessed to have them in my life. LALAS, Jamie!
