Easter was great this year for our family. There were lots of activities, and it was fun to see Avery get into it after being a little too young last time. The best part had to be the beautiful weather that made being outside so enjoyable, especially after the long ugly winter we had.
We started the weekend before at the annual "Bunny Bash" that Paul and Datra Quin have at their house. It's basically the gold standard for Easter parties with food, drink and lots of fun for the kids. The main event, of course, was a massive Easter egg hunt spanning multiple yards in the Quin neighborhood. To top it all off, this year an unannounced visit by a fire truck sent the kiddos into a frenzy. I think Avery said "Big fire truck" for at least a couple of weeks afterwards.
A week later, it was time for the unveiling of the Easter basket that we had been assembling for over a month. It took Avery all of ten minutes to tear through it and pillage the good stuff out of it. The toy that looks like an egg on a yellow stick has been affectionately labeled"the Whirlybird" and often has to be pried from Avery's kung-fu death grip on the way to school, the bath tub, or bed.
We finished things up with an Easter meal at Mimi and Papaw's house, followed by yet another Easter egg hunt in their back yard. Avery was a gracious winner and shared her "Sweethearts" (SweetTarts) with David, Lisa and the rest of us.

What a sweet post, honey. However, you are so dead for not getting any pre-approval on the pictures of me!
