No, not Don Vito Corleone! My Godfather, Al Blue. I recently made a business trip to my old hometown of San Jose, California. While there, I was able to squeeze in a much wanted visit with Al and it was a blast. While I have talked to him several times over the years, I have not seen him since I was nine - TWENTY YEARS! I remember how much I loved going to his house as a kid since he would always let my sister, Emillie and me beat him at horse shoes - I think! He and my parents were stationed together at Moffett Field in San Jose and became fast friends. He even walked my mom down the aisle at my parents wedding in 1975. He's retired now and spends most of his time traveling including twice a year, month long visits to Hawaii - LUCKY! We picked up right where we left off and never missed a beat.
Al, thanks for the conversation, delicious food and the memories!
XOXO, Jamie
